Monster

You've been there since I was a lad,
A parents threat when I was bad
Sharp white fangs, and bulging eyes
there to stop me telling lies.
I'm all grown up but still you prowl
underneath I hear your growl
The scrape of claws on woollen thread
As you crawl below my bed.
Now I can't sleep, I dread to slumber
Just in case you care to lumber
from beneath my place of rest
and put your teeth to the test.
So please beast stay in your void
and stop me feeling paranoid.
